Jerry Lee Gill
Jerry Lee Gill, 71, of Eldon, died on Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, at his home.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, beginning at noon, with the family present to greet friends from 2 until 3 p.m., at the Cranston Family Funeral Home, in Eldon. A brief Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3 p.m., immediately following the visitation. As were Gill’s wishes, his body will be cremated following the service with burial to be held at a later date.

Gill was born on July 27, 1945, in Mt. Pleasant, the son of Kenneth H. and Wanda May “Sammons” Gill. He attended school in Keosauqua. On Dec. 3, 1983, he was united in marriage to Linda Kay Klett, in Fairfield.
He spent many years running his own bait shops in Fairfield, Batavia, and Eldon known as Gill’s Bait and Tackle.
He enjoyed playing cribbage tournaments, dart leagues, and dice. He also enjoyed mushroom hunting, camping, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Gill is survived by his wife, Linda, of Eldon; one daughter, Ashley Gill, of Eldon; four grandchildren; three brothers, Ken (Ricky) Gill, of Leeton, Mo., Richard (Candi) Gill, of Mt. Pleasant, and Jim Gill, of Warrensburg, Mo.; and one sister, Tanja (John) Houk, of Clinton, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Randy J. Gill; and a step-son, Stephen C. Hackett.
