Jill Diane Howe, 67, Independence, Mo., and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at the Village of Jackson Creek in Independence, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the Chapel of Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in her memory.

She was born on Dec. 16, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant, and was the daughter of Richard and Jeanette Martin Howe. She worked for 38 years with the Department of Health and Human Services before retiring in 2012. She was a member of the NARF and Pearl Harbor Survivor’s Sons and Daughters. She enjoyed attending Midwest Old Thrashers Reunion, traveling, shopping, going to Las Vegas and most of all spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sister, Lisa (Edwin) Patterson of Overland Park, Kan.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
