Joseph Kuster, 70, of Yarmouth, died Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Great River Hospice House, West Burlington.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 2, at Elliott Chapel, New London. Burial will be at a later date. The family will greet friends at the chapel on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
He was born Sept. 26, 1943, in Hopper, Ill. He married Sherry Corley in 1965. The couple later divorced. On Aug. 20, 1973, he married Lena Colleen Moore.
He worked as an upholstery sewer at Eastman House for 29 years. After he retired, he worked at Industrial Service Corporation in Burlington. He was a member of the Steelworkers Union. He enjoyed watching NASCAR with friends, mushroom hunting, family gatherings and hunting and fishing with family and friends. He also enjoyed travelling while working for ISC.
He is survived by his wife; four daughters, Tammy (David) Schmidt of Burlington, Stacie (James) Martin of West Burlington, Laura Andrews of Woodbury, Minn., Lisa Kuster of New London; one son, Michael (Mindy) Kuster of Sapulpa, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
