Larry D. Feddersen
Larry D. Feddersen, 74, formerly of Brighton, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013, at the McCreedy Home in Washington.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville with the Rev. Jordan Cooper officiating. Memorials have been established to the Brighton Fire Department, the Wayland Fire Department and the Hope Lutheran Church. On-line condolences may be directed to www.olsonpowell.com.
Born Nov. 20, 1939, in rural Brighton, he was the son of Jens and Opal (Lynn) Feddersen. He graduated from Brighton High School. He served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged at a rank of E-4.
For 34 years, he worked as an inspector for Crane Company in Washington. He retired in 2003. His favorite work was as an aid at the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. Favorite hobbies included fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening and going to flea markets. He enjoyed working his teams of horses and mules. He belonged to the Hope Lutheran Church in Germanville.
Survivors include a son, Chris Feddersen of Wayland; a daughter, Kari Feddersen of Wayland; a step-son, Kurtis (Tammy) Sinn of Wayland; adopted daughters, Debbie Williams and Lisa Fowler both of Washington; and numerous grandchildren.
Preceding him in death are his parents; and a brother, Jens “Sonny” Feddersen.
