Larry L. Parker, 69, Hillsboro, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. The family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at a later date at White Oak Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory.

He was born on Feb. 24, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant, and was the son of Edward M. and Florence Elizabeth Van Dorin Parker. He married Phyllis Ilene Plummer on Oct. 17, 1964. He served his country in the Army and recieved an honorable discharge in 1969. He had worked at Iowa Malleable in Fairfield and later at Heatiltor in Mt. Pleasant retiring in 1999. He belonged to the Silver Circle Club and Iris City CB Club where his handle was Zebra Three. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife; his children, Richard L. Parker Sr. of Hillsboro, Lorrie (Kent) Lee of Mt. Pleasant, Cyndee (Danny) Triska of Mt. Pleasant and Sharon (Scott Trimpe) Parker of Williamsburg; 13 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his brother, Terry (Mary) Parker of Oregon; and one sister, Elaine Roach of Mt. Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one granddaughter; and one sister, Peggy.
