Lee D. Perrott
Lee D. Perrott, 76, of Mt. Pleasant, IA, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014, at his home.
Visitation will begin after 12 noon on Monday, February 3, 2014, at Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. that evening. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. that evening. A funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4th at the Memorial Chapel with Pastor Deb Savage officiating. Interment will be at Forest Home Cemetery with military rites by the Henry County Honor Guard. Born on September 10, 1937, in Aurora, IL, Lee Douglas was the son of Edward H. and Helen I. (Wright) Perrott. He graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Airborne during the Cold War. On March 12, 1966, he married Helen Scarff in Mt. Pleasant.
For many years Lee owned and operated the Mobil Service Station in Mt. Pleasant. After selling the station he worked as a maintenance manager at the Wal-Mart Distribution Center. After 18 years, he retired from this position in 2002.
Lee was a member of the New London Masonic Lodge #28 and was a Past Master and District Lecturer. He had officiated over 37 Masonic services. He attended the First United Presbyterian Church. Favorite hobbies included golfing, woodworking and walking. Many mornings Lee would join in conversation at morning coffee clubs. He was especially fond of his grandchildren and attended their activities.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Mt. Pleasant; two sons, Terry (Cindy) Perrott of Muscatine, IA and Greg (Deb) Perrott of Mt. Pleasant, IA; two daughters, Tammy Perrott of Cedar Rapids, IA and Mary (Jason) Liechty of Mt. Pleasant, IA; a sister, Brenda (Mike) Kerr of Marble Falls, TX; six grandchildren, Nathan Perrott, Rae Ann Perrott, Nelson Perrott, Cali Liechty, Anni Liechty, and Elli Liechty; and one great-grandchild, Jazlyn Perrott.
Preceding him in death are his parents; a grandson, Nicholas; and a brother, Edward W. Perrott.
