Linda Jane Graber Riley
Linda Jane Graber Riley, 71, a resident of All-American Care in Washington, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2013.
Her body has been donated to the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospital for research. Memorials may be sent to Wayland Mennonite Church, 104 W. 2nd Street, Wayland 52654 or to the Washington County Hospice. Born Jan. 29, 1942, in rural Mt. Pleasant, she was the daughter of Jacob E. and Helen Ruth (Miller) Graber. She attended Prospect Country School, Wayland Junior High, and graduated from Wayland High School in 1960. After graduation she attended a nurse’s aid course through Henry County Health Center.
She worked at Buff’s Truck Stop and Golden Dragon Restaurant. She volunteered her time with the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Republican Party, and played her keyboard for several nursing homes as well as the country church at Old Threshers. She was a member of the Wayland Mennonite Church.
She is survived by a son, Marvin Riley of Burlington; a daughter, Candy Riley of Winfield; and two sisters, Carol (James) Baughman, of Pulaski and Karen (Barb Turner) Graber of Des Moines.
Preceding her in death are her parents and her brother, Harold.
