Man apprehended after fleeing local bar
A Mt. Pleasant man was apprehended Tuesday night after fleeing following a disturbance at Keo’s Bar and Grill.
According to the Mt. Pleasant Police, Joshua Ehrhart had thrown a glass into the liquor shelf causing numerous bottles to break.
Ehrhart allegedly left the bar in an attempt to elude law enforcement prior to the patrol officer’s arrival. While crossing the 100 block of North Jefferson Street, he ran in front of a 2014 Hyundai, owned and operated by Sandra Olson, of Mt. Pleasant. After colliding with the Olson vehicle, Ehrhart continued to flee until located by officers in the 100 block of North Main Street.
Ehrhart was transported to the Henry County Health Center for minor injuries. Olson was not injured. Damage to Olson’s vehicle was estimated at $750.
After being apprehended, Ehrhart was charged with public intoxication-third or subsequent offense; disorderly conduct; fourth degree criminal mischief; and interference with official acts.
Mt. Pleasant Police were assisted by Henry County Sheriff’s deputies.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
