Marcelene M. Watson, 86, Hillsboro, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Park Place Long Term Care Center, Mt Pleasant.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua, the Rev. Jason Mott officiating. Visitation with family will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery northeast of Stockport. Memorials to Spencer Cemetery or Hillsboro EMS may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at P.O. She was born March 10, 1927, near Denmark to August and Florence Miller Horn and married Melvin L. Watson on Aug. 5, 1944, in Stockport Christian Church. He preceded her in death.
She graduated from Stockport High School and lived most of her life in the Stockport and Hillsboro area. She was a homemaker, worked at Stockport Senior Meal Site and had been a member of the Stockport American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving are four daughters, Linda (Gene) Carter of Hillsboro, Marcia (Roger) Swartout of Danville, Ind., Susan (Karl) Swartout of Mooresville, Ind. and Deborah (Kevin Denly) Jury of Farmington; a son, Wayne (Jan Ward) Watson of Stockport; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Kirk of Elk, Wash.; and a brother, Donald Horn of Escondido, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a son, Brad Watson; two sisters, Lois Johnson and Marian Boese; and three brothers, Edward, Harlan and Jerry Horn.
