Marjorie Parker, 96, Mt. Pleasant, died Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Park Place Elder Living.

She was the daughter of J. O. and Hazel Scott Nugent, and was born on May 17, 1917, in St. Louis, Mo. She graduated from high school in Robinson, Ill., and then attended the University of Indiana. She was an executive secretary and worked for corporations in the St. Louis area. Following her work in the corporate world, she ran an ambulance service in Noel, Mo. for four years. She then moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1999 to live with her daughter.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan (Charles) Erue of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Richard Williams of High Ridge, Mo.; a brother, Dean Nugent of Napa, Calif.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Marjorie Hayes; and a brother, Floyd Nugent.
