Mary Heaton Carrick to perform in Burlington
BURLINGTON — Mt. Pleasant native Mary Heaton Carrick will perform a caberet show, “Corner of the Sky,” on Friday, July 26, and Saturday, July 27.
Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Bart Howard Room in the lower level of the Heritage Center, located at 501 North Fourth Street in Burlington.
Carrick, the daughter of Dave and Carmen Heaton, was born and raised in Mt. Pleasant where she gained an appreciation for music both at the restaurant her parents ran and at home. At Illinois Wesleyan she graduated with a degree in vocal performance and studied theatre arts.
“Whenever I am planning a visit to southeast Iowa, I always say I’m ‘going home,’” said Carrick. “So, to have the opportunity to sing and share music that I love so much with friends, family, and the people of this region is really very special.”
Tickets are available at the Des Moines County Heritage Center, the Iowa Store and Weird Harold’s in Burlington as well as at Brown’s Shoe Fit in Mt. Pleasant.
