Meta F. Brown, 95, Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Park Place in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, at the Kimzey Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. The Rev. Don Coffin of the Cedar Creek Friends Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Cedar Creek Cemetery, rural Salem. Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Kimzey Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant. The family will be present to receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday.

She was born Oct. 25, 1917, in rural Hillsboro. She was the daughter of Frank Ferree and Nina (Mogel) Moyle. She attended grade school in rural Henry and Van Buren County Schools. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in 1936. On Dec. 3, 1942, in Mt. Pleasant, she was united in marriage to Rex Ralph Brown. He preceded her in death.
Prior to her marriage, she was a housekeeper for the Seeley family and others in the community. She and her husband farmed together until they retired and moved into Mt. Pleasant in 1998. She was a member of Cedar Creek Friends Church. She previously taught Sunday School at the Salem Friends Church. She belonged to the Farm Bureau and the SNT’s, a local group of friends. She loved to tend to her yard and garden.
Survivors include two sons, Gary (Marlene Belzer) Brown of Mediapolis and Ralph Brown of Dallas Center; a daughter, Mary Ann Brown of Burlington; two granddaughters and two great granddaughters.
Her parents; husband and two brothers, Richard and Keith Moyle, precede her in death.
