Mildred M. Crocker
Mildred M. Crocker, 89, Mt. Union, died Monday July 22, 2013 at Henry County Health Center.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Mt. Union United Methodist Church, with the Revs. Randy Moser and Beth Briggs officiating. Interment will follow at the Trinity Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Honts Funeral Home in Winfield, where the family will meet with friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Mt. Union Methodist Church, U of I Children’s Hospital or the donor’s choice.
The daughter of Arthur and Grace (Connop) Conard, she was born May 30, 1924, at Burlington. On Dec. 31, 1944, she married Ronald Crocker. She was a graduate of the New London High School, class of 1942, attended Iowa State and went to Burlington School of Nursing. She farmed with her husband and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mt. Union United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was active in church related organizations. She was a 4-H leader and was a member of T.T.T. for 58 years. She enjoyed gardening, horseback riding and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of Mt. Union; three daughters, Barbara and Ed Vosmek of Shueyville, Linda (Gary) Jones of Winfield, and Cheryl Stagner of Mt. Union; 12 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marjorie Parsons of New London.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister.
