Mildred Unkrich, 94, Olds, died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at the Henry County Health Center.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the First United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant, where the family will receive friends. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with the Rev.Deborah Stowers officiating. Burial will be in Eicher Cemetery. A memorial has been established to First United Methodist Church. Born July 3, 1919, in Washington County, she was the daughter of John J. and Mary (Widmer) Rich. She attended Stringtown country school and graduated from Olds High School in 1937. On Feb. 28, 1940, she married George H. Unkrich. He preceeded her in death.
For 17 years, she worked in the office of Unkrich Feed and Grain.
She was a member of Eicher Mennonite Church where she taught Sunday School. Later she joined First United Methodist Church and was active in the United Methodist Women. She was a longtime member of Gideon’s International. She enjoyed spending time at the Winfield Senior Center where she often played cards. She also enjoyed music and quilting.
Survivors include two daughters, Geraldine (Bob) DeYarman of Toledo, Ohio and Faye (Royce) Miller of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband; her parents; a brother, Raymond Rich; and a sister, Helen Reeser.
