Mitchell and Hoekstra lead Tigers to runner-up spot
The Iowa Wesleyan College men's golf team finished second at the MacMurray Fall Invitational on Sunday after shooting a team score of 307. They finished behind only Lewis & Clark Community College, which shot a 293.
The Tigers were led by Blake Mitchell and Trent Hoekstra, each of whom shot a 75 and finished in a tie for fifth place overall.
Zac Cronkhite shot a 76 and finished in a tie for 10th, while Patrick Zielinski tied for 13th with a score of 78. Tanner Travis finished the course in 79 strokes and tied for 15th, and Michael Neff tied for 18th after scoring an 80.
Bo Vitale also played with the golf team, shooting an 89 and finishing in a tie for 30th.
Lewis Bain of Lewis & Clark Community College was the individual winner with a score of 69.
Next up for the Tigers is the Waldorf College Invitational on Sunday.
