Mitchell leads Tiger golf team at Blue Top Ridge Invitational
The Iowa Wesleyan men's golf team competed at the Blue Top Ridge Invitational over the weekend, where they finished sixth of 11 teams.
IWC’s Blake Mitchell took fifth place in medal play, shooting a 146. Mitchell carded a 70 on the first round and came back on Sunday with a 76 to lead the Tigers.
Trent Hoekstra scored 159 with a 79 in the first round and an 80 in the second round.
Zac Cronkhite shot a 164 for the Tigers on rounds of 84 and 80, while Michael Neff scored 166 (87, 79) and Tanner Travis scored 173 (84, 89).
The Tigers shot a team score of 632 for the two-day tournament. Mt. Mercy won the team title with a score of 587.
