MP Area Chamber Alliance announces new award honoring businesses
The Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber Alliance is looking forward to honoring businesses that take pride in their work, exceptionally maintain their properties and encourage others to follow their lead.
The chamber will be doing so through their “Mt. Pleasant Community Pride Award.”
“This board-initiated project will recognize chamber members who take pride and maintain their business property,” said Chamber President Mark Petty. “Additionally, our goal is to encourage all businesses to take pride in the way they present their business to the public.”
Recipients of the award will receive a metal yard sign to display for three months. They will also receive a window cling to permanently display in their business to show their achievement.
The chamber also plans a second version of the sign to display in downtown business windows.
“Every business has a role to play in creating a positive commercial environment here in Mt. Pleasant,” said Chamber Vice President Kiley Miller.
Out-of-town visitors frequently comment on the beauty of Mt. Pleasant, according to Miller. This award is a way to honor those businesses that go the extra mile in maintaining their facilities.
“Every day, Chamber members invest in their properties in large and small ways. We want those changes to be noticed,” Miller said.
The first awarding of the Mt. Pleasant Community Pride Award will be in April, and the award will be given quarterly after that.
Chamber members wishing to nominate a business for the award may complete a form available at the Chamber offices. The same form can also be used to announce renovations and other improvements.
