MP JV football downed by Keokuk, 34-14
Joseph Hess threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night’s JV football game — the final home game of the season — but overall, the Panthers came up short against Keokuk in the home contest, 34-14.
The Panthers’ Beau Parkevich had a 16-yard touchdown reception and Clayle Franklin caught an 8-yard touchdown pass in the game.
Korte Maddy’s PAT attempt was good for both.
Hess went 10-for-22 passing on the night.
Franklin had three catches for 88 yards, and Anthony Carrasco had five catches for 80 yards.
Parkevich had 13 receiving yards on two catches.
Tyler Ruble had 17 tackles, while Rob Pohren and Maddy each had 10.
Colten Mertens made seven tackles; Brady Richards had six.
Ruby, Pohren and Isaac Davis each recovered a fumble.
Ruby and Parkevich each had an interception.
The Panthers play again Thursday in their final game of the season, which will be at Williamsburg.
Kickoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
