MPFD visits Cindy’s Daycare
Every year, the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department (MPFD) makes an extra stop at Cindy’s Daycare in order to let the younger kids (most who aren’t school age), see what firefighters look like up close.
“It’s a way to make them not afraid,” said Cindy Ruth, who runs the daycare out of her home. “They talk about fire prevention, what to do if there is a fire and they even get their gear on in order to make sure the kids know what they look like in case they ever have to come to their homes.”
After the presentation, the children received firefighter helmets to wear. As they left, the firefighters sounded the horn and flashed their lights.
