Mt. Pleasant bowlers split at Keokuk, will host SEC meet on Saturday

KEOKUK — The Mt. Pleasant bowlers competed in their last regular season meet on Tuesday night in an SEC showdown with Keokuk.
The boys team picked up a conference win by by just 37 pins, 2,723-2,686. The girls fell, 2,538-2,098.
Cameron Sammons led the boys with a 416, rolling 191 in his first game and a 225 in his second. Sam Anderson had a huge first game, with a score of 254, but dropped off with a 133 in his second to finish at 387.
Clayton Sammons ended the day at 373. Hunter Brown scored a 344. Jacob Crooks had a 302 and Levi Mills scored a 285.
Baker games for the Mt. Pleasant boys went 184, 136, 193, 172 and 216.
Kelsey Hummell rolled a 167 in her first game and a 157 in her second game to lead the Panther girls with 324. Emma Overton was right behind her at 318 and Keri Herr gave Mt. Pleasant three scores over 300 with a 304.
Emily Shumaker rolled a 268. Brittany Triska rolled a 220 and Betsy Bockting rolled a 212.
Baker games for the Panther girls went 180, 134, 148, 116 and 86.
The Panthers will now turn their attention to the postseason. Mt. Pleasant will host the SEC tournament on Saturday, Feb. 11, at 1 p.m.
