Mt. Pleasant boys’ track and field awards
The Mt. Pleasant boys’ track and field team had its awards banquet Sunday night, recognizing both the athletes and Coach Scot Lamm.

At the banquet, Dunn, Mulford and the shuttle hurdle team (Thorne, Spencer White, Cole Phillips and Blake Knudsen) were recognized for breaking school records. Dunn now holds the record in discus (170-6); Mulford has the high jump record (6-5 1/4) and the shuttle hurdle team broke a record with its time of 57.10 seconds. Awards also went to team captains, Thorne, Dunn and Wester.
The boys’ track and field team placed third overall at the state meet this season and won state championships in two events: Wester placed first in the shot put and the shuttle hurdle team also claimed a state title.
This was Lamm’s last year coaching the team; he will take over the duties of Activities Director starting in the fall.
