Mt. Pleasant freshmen boys stay undefeated with win over Keokuk

The Mt. Pleasant freshmen boys stayed unbeaten on Friday night with a 58-41 win against Keokuk.
The Panthers defeated the Chiefs in the first of what would be a three-game sweep for MPCHS boys’ basketball teams that night.
The Panthers trailed, 12-8, after the first quarter but used a 23-point second quarter to take a 31-21 lead into halftime.
Mt. Pleasant proceeded to pull away in the second half, winning the third quarter, 19-5, and holding on in the fourth for the 17-point win.
Keegan Kohorst scored 17 points to lead the Panthers in the win. Konnor Peterson had 14 points and Rylan Seberg scored 10 points to give the Panthers three double-digit scorers.
Brody Bender scored eight points in the win. Zach Mangenello had four points. Jacob Moffett scored three points and Clayton Lowery had two.
The Panther ninth-graders sit at 10-0 overall and will host Ft. Madison on Friday, Jan. 27, at 4:45 p.m.
