MARYVILLE. Mo. — Joseph O’Neill, 26, and Donald Kestner, 26, both of Mt. Pleasant; and Travis Davis, 27 of Ft. Dodge, were arrested on Friday in northwest Missouri on charges stemming from a bank robbery.
According to David Glidden, Chief Deputy from Nodaway County, all three men have prior criminal history.
“I bet if they had still been in prison and not out on parole this bank robbery would have never happened,” said Glidden.
According to the Associated Press, Nodaway County, Mo., authorities say about $12,000 was stolen last Friday, March 21, from the Citizens Bank and Trust in Burlington Junction, Mo.
Glidden stated that a citizen noticed men going into the bank wearing masks and promptly contacted the sheriff’s office while the alleged suspects were in the bank.
After the alleged robbery, the concerned citizen followed the suspicious vehicle and called authorities who also chased the suspects. The alleged suspects fled to a heavily wooded area north of Hopkins, Mo., according to Glidden, and tried to conceal their loot in a tree. They also attempted to hide their vehicle and then fled on foot.
The men are being held in the Nodaway County jail on first-degree robbery and armed criminal action charges. The suspects remain in custody on $100,000 cash-only bond. Online court records do not indicate if they have attorneys.
