Nadene Rude, 91, of Ute and Castana, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at the Danville Care Center, Danville.
According to her wishes her body has been cremated, and there will be a private family gathering at a later date.
Elliott Chapel, New London, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Feb. 12, 1921, at Battle Creek, the daughter of Charles and Goldie Kelly Johnson. She married Eldon Waples on June 10, 1942, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua. They later divorced and on July 22, 1980, in Onawa, she married Clayton Rude. He preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Battle Creek High School, a cook for many years at the Maple Valley Community Schools in Mapleton and of the Christian faith. She enjoyed bowling, crafts, making ceramics, gardening and flowers.
She is survived by two sons, Steve (Donita) Waples of Middletown, Dan (Sue) Waples of Muncie, Ind.; two daughters, Mickey (Micheal) Levich of Tucson, Ariz. and Patricia (Leonard) Moseley of Cedar Hills, Texas; two step-sons; Terry and Bryan Rude of Ute; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
