Nell Jean Schuster
Nell Jean Schuster, 79, West Point, died on Wed., Aug. 21 at her home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, at Elliott Chapel.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, at Elliott Chapel with the Rev. Ken Peterson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Burge Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Paw Animal Shelter, Ft. Madison.
Cremation will be accorded following the funeral service.
Born Feb. 21, 1934, near Lowell in Baltimore Township, Henry Co., she was the daughter of Elmer and Wylma Saltzgaver Hampton. She attended school at Woolen’s Corner and Peach Blow Country Schools and graduated from Denmark High School in 1951. She married Gale Schuster on Nov. 21, 1954. She was a member of City Church Burlington, in Burlington.
She worked at Troy Laundry, Sheaffer Pen, Sylvania, Cargil Inc., Pioneer Seed Co. and Ty’s Greenhouse. She had a small painting and wallpapering business and helped her husband with the farming operation. She loved to sew, piece quilts and bake. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, the outdoors and her cats and dog.
Survivors include her husband; two children, Gwendolyn (Larry) Francy of New London and Bradley (Maggie) Schuster of West Point; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and one brother, Joe Hampton of West Point.
