Nellor retires from Two Rivers
Kathy Nellor may be retiring from Two Rivers Bank and Trust, but she has every intention on staying just as involved in the Mt. Pleasant community as she has always been.
After her retirement becomes official today, Nellor looks forward to teaching personal finance classes at The Fellowship Cup.
For the last 17 years, Nellor has been with Two Rivers Bank and Trust, the first 12 of those years were spent in Burlington.
“I was commuting for 12 years, so it was wonderful to be able to be back in my community and able to be more involved in the community,” said Nellor.
Nellor started her career in banking as a teller, was the first female State Bank Examiner in Iowa and now is retiring as the market president.
She stresses that hard work and having goals pays off in the end. “My approach has always been that if you just go about your business and by doing the job and doing it well, you can eventually help erase some stereotypes and get to where you want to be,” said Nellor.
Along with teaching classes at The Fellowship Cup, Nellor looks forward to traveling with her husband, Dennis, during her retirement.
“My husband and I have a fifth-wheel camper and we plan to just be nomads and travel around. We have no place in mind. We just love traveling.
When asked if her love of traveling may encourage her to move away from the community her response is simple, “Never. I love Mt. Pleasant. It is our home.”
