New London golf sweeps home meet
NEW LONDON — The New London boys’ golf score of 166 was good enough for a win in a meet against Notre Dame and Danville on Monday night.
The Tiger girls, with a score of 212, also claimed victory in the triangular.
On boys’ side, Tristan Kadel’s 39 was the low score on the day, earning him medalist honors. Hagin Gillis shot a 40, Quincy Porter scored 42 and Cody Bartels finished the course in 45 strokes to complete the scoring for the New London boys.
Also golfing for New London were Kyler Meyer (50) and Tyler Schneider (51).
Notre Dame, led by Kasey Broek’s 42, scored 176, and Danville had a team score of 220. The Bears’ top golfer was Chris Barton with a score of 48.
On the girls’ side of the meet, Notre Dame’s Taknami Sahmabulic was the medalist with her score of 43. As a team, Notre Dame scored 259 to take second overall.
Leading the New London girls to a team win was Jorgi Krieger, who scored a 52, but the other five Tigers were all within three strokes. Breanna Stevens shot a 53, followed by Baylee Lindell, Emma Pry and Morgan Oliver, each with a 54. Victoria Noel finished the course in 55 strokes.
Danville finished with a team score of 289, led by Sami Peterson’s 60.
The New London teams are scheduled to golf again on Thursday when they travel to Danville. The meet begins at 4 p.m.
