FT. MADISON — The fourth-ranked New London boys’ basketball team continued to roll through their schedule on Tuesday night at Holy Trinity Catholic.
The Tigers jumped out to an early double-digit lead and held on in the second half for a 62-50 win.
New London led 16-4 after the first quarter and outscored the Crusaders 18-12 in the second to take a 34-16 lead into halftime.
A talented HTC squad was able to battle back in the second half, outscoring the Tigers 34-28, but their second half run wasn’t enough to make a credible threat for the lead.
New London used a balanced scoring attack offensively, which led to three players reaching double digits.
Ben Dentlinger led the team with 16 points on 8-12 shooting. Isaac McSorley hit a couple of three pointers and finished at 15 points and Mason Porter scored 13 points of his own.
Keontae Luckett had seven points in the win. Justin Henecke had six. Alex Dentlinger finished with three points and Blake Nehring ended the game with two.
The Tiger boys moved to 7-0 with the win and continue to lead the SEISC South Division.
New London will have one of their toughest games on the schedule on Friday night, however.
The Tigers will host undefeated Highland, which sits atop the north division with an 8-0 overall record and a 7-0 record in conference play. The boys game on Friday night is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
