No. 5 New London gets back on track with two road victories

ELDON — The fifth-ranked New London boys have bounced right back from their first loss of the season on Friday night.
The Tigers have won two road games in two days this week, defeating Central Lee, 78-64, on Monday and smashing Cardinal, 77-48, on Tuesday.
The Tigers used a huge second quarter to defeat the Hawks on Monday night. New London led by just one point, at 15-14, heading into the period, but the Tigers outscored Central Lee, 23-6, in the period to take a 38-20 lead at halftime.
The Hawks outscored the Tigers by four points in the second half but the damage had already been done and the Tigers were back in the winner’s column with a 14-point victory.
Mason Porter scored 21 points in the win to lead the Tigers. Keontae Luckett filled the stat sheet with 17 points, eight rebounds and six assists. Justin Henecke had 16 points. Alex Dentlinger finished with 14 points, three steals and three blocks. Isaac McSorely had five points and three steals and Blake Nehring had three steals of his own.
The Tigers raced out to an early lead against Cardinal and never looked back, leading 38-18 at halftime and winning the game by 39 points.
Porter had a monster game to lead the Tigers. He finished with 40 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals.
Luckett scored seven points against Cardinal. Dentlinger had six points, four assists and two blocks. Henecke had six points. Grant Swanson scored four. Nehring had three and Koby McBeth scored two.
