This car did not quite make it over the train track, becoming stuck on the crossing recently. All the occupants of the car escaped, however, before the train struck the car. Up until slight snow and ice melting over the weekend, the train crossings in Mt. Pleasant were treacherous. Mt. Pleasant City Administrator Brent Schleisman said city crews are prohibited by the railroad to remove snow and ice from the crossings. That responsibility falls to the railroad, and the effort the railroad put forth to clear the crossings after the seasons’s first snow is obvious by the above photo.
