Panther bowling teams fall to Washington and Keokuk

The Mt. Pleasant bowlers have had two dual meets this week. Their first one was at Washington on Saturday and the second was a make-up meet on Tuesday against Keokuk.

The Panther boys went 0-2 on the week, falling 2,665-2,589 in Washington and 2,872-2,693 against Keokuk.

The Panther girls also went winless, falling 2,041-1,956 at Washington and 2,709-1,822 against Keokuk.

Cameron Sammons led the way for the Mt. Pleasant boys in Washington. He threw a 218 and a 199 to finish at 417. Hunter Brown was second on the team with a 375. Clayton Sammons finished at 355. Sam Anderson bowled a 322. Ethan Oilar rolled a 272 and Levi Mills bowled a 250.

Baker scores for the MP boys at Washington went 178, 159, 161, 188 and 162.

The Panther boys were led by Cameron again in the matchup against the Chiefs. Cameron rolled a 235 and a 204 to finish at 439. Clayton was right behind him with a 195 and a 236 to score 431. Anderson finished at 320. Oilar scored 300. Jacob Crooks bowled a 293 and Brown rounded out the scorers at 279.

Baker games for the MPCHS boys against Keokuk went 224, 163, 179, 177 and 167.

In Washington, the girls were led by Emma Overton and Emily Shumaker. Overton rolled a 143 and a 166 to finish at 309, and Shumaker rolled a 161 and a 139 to score 300. Kelsey Hummell rolled a 269. Brittany Triska rolled a 224 and Betsy Bockting rolled a 181.

Baker Games for the Panther girls in Washington went 146, 138, 146, 89 and 145.

Overton had a big night on Tuesday against Keokuk. She rolled the Panthers’ best two games, throwing a 171 and a 215 to finish at 386. Shumaker rolled a 250. Hummell scored a 247. Bockting had a 204 and Triska finished at 159.

Baker games for the Panther girls on Tuesday went 115, 116, 104, 119 and 122.

The Panthers will be back in action today (Friday) at Mahaska Bowl in Oskaloosa where they will take on Oskaloosa and Bondurant-Farrar, at 4 p.m.
