Panthers selected for SEC honors
Both Cameron Frank and Faith Pope have been named first team all-Southeast Conference selections, with Pope also receiving the nod as the conference’s Co-Player of the Year after a vote by league coaches.
Pope shares the honor with Keokuk’s Kendall Clark.
Frank was the conference leader in assists (135) and steals (69) this season. Pope had an SEC-high 66 blocks, twice as many as his closest competitor. He was also second in the conference in scoring with 16.4 points per game and second in rebouding with 8.9 rebounds per game.
Clark led the conference with 10.5 rebounds per game, and Ft. Madison’s Miles Wentzien had a league-high 17.7 points per game.
Wentzien joins Frank, Pope and Clark as a first team selection. Other players receving the honor were Keokuk’s Jonny Dahl and Ft. Madison’s John Nagel.
The Panthers’ Ryan Hanna was a second team selection, and three Panthers also earned an honorable mention: Connor Shull, Logan Mulford and Dalton Conrad.
There were also 10 Panthers who made the academic all-SEC list: juniors Kyle Kauffman, Justin Griffis, Trey Magnani, Zach Mulford, Tyler Pace and Carson Remick, and seniors Conrad, Frank, Hanna and Brant Shelman.
