Paragon Ragtime Orchestra to present silent movie classics at Capitol Theater
On Saturday, Feb. 4, the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra will present “Clown Princes,” a collection of silent short movies by Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton, at the historic Burlington Capitol Theater.
The orchestra will provide the live music score accompaniment for each movie. The performance is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., at the Burlington Capitol Theater, in downtown Burlington.
With more than 685 screenings across 48 states and seven countries, Paragon Ragtime Orchestra is one of the world’s foremost silent film accompanists. From Hollywood to Chicago and New York, the orchestra leads the way in designing, producing and performing silent film programs for modern audiences of all ages.
Paragon’s programs are inspired by the glamorous presentational style of America’s “movie palaces” of the 1910s and 1920s. The orchestra performs the complete movie score, written and timed to the action.
Advance tickets are available at www.RedTruckTickets.com or the Capitol Theater box office, from 2 to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Same-day tickets are also available at the box office.
