Park Place receives ‘random act of kindness’
Park Place elders recently experienced a random act of kindness.
Blue Fish Clothing out of Fairfield chose Park Place Elder Living as a place to volunteer during Random Acts of Kindness Week.
The elders gathered around a table full of hand-carved print blocks and an array of paints and were given one task — create.
With the help of Park Place care partners and Blue Fish employees, the elders created one-of-a-kind t-shirts.
“I was pleased with the way my shirt came out,” said Gloria, a Park Place elder. “It was something fun that everyone can and should try.”
Referring to seeing her fellow elders at work she commented, “It is fun to see another side of them; they open up when they create.”
The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation (RAK) believes people should practice kindness every day, but during RAK Week, people are encouraged to go above and beyond to make others feel special.
