Longtime Wasilla resident, Mrs. Patricia Ruth (Mulford) Riley, 60, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 from cancer at the Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.

Private family services will be held.

Patricia was born August 22, 1953 to Clifford Ray & Juanita Frances (Fisher) Mulford in Washington, Iowa. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant Community High School in 1971 and furthered her education in 1972 at the Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa. Patricia moved to Anchorage in 1978 when her husband was stationed at Elmendorf AFB. They moved to Wasilla in 1983 where she had worked for the Mat-Su schools as a cashier and server until she retired to enjoy spending time with her family. Patricia was a member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren, gardening and always wanted to travel.

“Patricia loved her family and enjoyed watching her grandchildren. She was married for 41 years and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed greatly,” wrote the family.

Patricia was preceded in death by her grandparents, M.E. & Ruth Fisher; parents, Clifford and Juanita Mulford; and brother, Edward Floyd Mulford.

She is survived by her husband, Lyle Riley of Wasilla, AK; sons, Scott Riley and his wife Tina of Wasilla, AK and Jeff Riley and his wife, Crystal of Wasilla, AK; daughters, Katie Jordan and her husband Sean of Colorado Springs, CO and Jody Demientieff and her husband Adam of Fairbanks, AK; twelve grandchildren; brothers, Doug Mulford and his wife Tammy of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa and Craig Mulford and his wife Jeanne of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; sister, Jane Mulford of Hillsboro, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
