PEO Chapter NZ elects officers
Chapter NZ of PEO met March 25 in the home of Karen Wenstrand with Ginny Lee, Patty Carson and Jean Evans serving as co-hostesses.
Correspondence was read from the board of directors of the Iowa PEO project fund, telling of the approval of an educational grant to applicant Kemlyn Bappe. She is in the process of completing her master’s degree in special education at the University of Iowa. A thank-you note from Bappe was read sharing her appreciation for the chapter’s sponsorship of her grant.
Project reports were also given by Brenda McCade on the Star Scholarship, Jan Lange on Cottey College and Jean Thomson on the 40th anniversary of the program for continuing education.
The budget for 2013-2014 was reviewed and approved. The audit committee of Kris Emerson and Patty Carson gave a favorable report.
Election and installation of officers for the coming year was held. Officers for 2013-2014 are: President Connie Pedersen, Vice President Betty Lowe, Recordoing Secretary Mary Beth Young with Lyn Graf and Ann Corrigan serving as assistants, Corresponding Secretary Jan Rankin, Treasurer Lana Moeller, Chaplain Carole Lauger and Guard Ginny Lee.
Outgoing president Karen Brimhall was presented an appreciation gift. Waunita Hobbie was recognized and thanked for her long-time service as chapter reporter.
The next meeting will be April 22 in the home of Karen Brimhall with Kay Denning and Carolyn Reid serving as co-hostesses.
