PEO Chapter NZ meets
Chapter NZ of PEO met Monday, April 22, in the home of Karen Brimhall with Kay Denning and Carolyn Reid serving as co-hostesses.
President Connie Pedersen presided at the business meeting. She announced her theme for the year — “Sharing through Friendship.”
Vice president and program chairman, Betty Lowe, handed out yearbooks for 2013-2014. She thanked her committee and especially Elizabeth Garrels for typing, printing and assembling the book.
Corresponding secretary Jan Ranking read letters from Kadie Jo Dennison and Marne Wenstrand Lackman, the latter reqeusting a transfer to Chapter FM in Oklahoma City, Okla.
An invitation from Chapter Origional A to attend a coffee the fourth Saturday of each month at Tazza Bella at 9:30 a.m. was shared by membership committee member Karen Wenstrand.
It was decided to provide, for another year, a PEO Bed and Breakfast in the home of Joyce and Paul Dennison and to continue to serve luncheons for visiting PEO chapters. Joyce Dennison and Janet Roederer were commended for their faithfulness to this project.
Installation was held for Chaplain Carole Lauger. It was announced that Kemlyn Bappe, recent recipient of the Iowa PEO Project Fund grant, would be speaking at the Convetion of Iowa State Chapter of the PEO Sisterhood in Des Moines on Saturday, June 1.
At the close of the meeting, Kay Denning and Carolyn Reid presented a Chapter NZ trivia and goal setting challenge complete with prizes. Refreshments were served.
The next meeting will be Monday, May 20, at 1 p.m. in the home of Lynn Graf with Mary Beth Young and Sharon Davis serving as co-hostesses.
The program will be “Sharing the Story of the Union Block” by Pat White.
