R. Juanita Stone
R. Juanita Stone, 92, of Fairfield, and formerly of Douds and Keosauqua, died on Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Parkview Care Center, in Fairfield.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at Pedrick Funeral Home, in Keosauqua, with Rev. Danny Carey officiating. Visitation will open at 3 p.m., on Friday, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Leando Cemetery, in Douds.
Memorials to Hospice Compassus may be left at the funeral home or mailed to the family at 600 Long Street, Batavia, Iowa 52533.
Stone was born on Nov. 5, 1924, in Hamburg, Wisc., the daughter of Charles W. and Hazel M. Bennett Brown. She attended Fairfield High School until she was married. She married Lonnie Stone on Aug. 31, 1941, in Memphis, Mo. He preceded her in death.
She was a member of Bethel Worship Center, in Douds.
She enjoyed quilting, bingo, baking, cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Stone is survived by three sons, Lonnie E. (E’Lynne) Stone, of Woodburn; Charley (Deb) Stone, of Batavia; and Harley M. Stone, of Ottumwa; four daughters, Shirley (Jack) White, of Troy; Roberta (Butch) Ludwick, of Warsaw, Ill.; Cindy Brown, of Keosauqua; and Kathy (Chub) Humble, of Agency; 23 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Johnny Droze and Paul Brown; two sisters, Doris Smith and Bertha Fisher; two daughters, Mary E. Goodwin and Carol Ehret; a grandson; and a great-great-granddaughter.
