Retail gasoline prices continue falling
Average retail gasoline prices in Iowa fell 7.1 cents per gallon last week, averaging $3.11 per gallon Nov. 3, according to GasBuddy’s daily survey of 2,036 gas outlets in Iowa.
With the change in gas prices in Iowa during the past week, prices Sunday were 21.9 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and 18.8 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.
“The downward movement in national gasoline prices have continued yet for another week, thanks to a fall in commodity prices,” commented Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst. “Oil prices continue to shed value, leading the way to lower gasoline prices.”
DeHaan said that in five states — Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas and Kansas — the average retail gasoline price is below $3 per gallon.
Nationally, the average price fell 3.3 cents per gallon last week to $3.26 per gallon. The national average has decreased 12.8 cents per gallon during the last month and now is 24.2 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.
