Rosella Means was born in Washington, Iowa in 1919. She was a gentle woman with a wry sense of humor. In her final months of life, when asked by a healthcare provider how she felt, her response was “with my hands”. She lived life with dignity, integrity, honesty, hard work and a can-do attitude.
Rosella graduated from Washington High School in 1938. In 1940, she married the love of her life, George E. Means, Sr. They were married for almost 74 years when he passed away in 2013. After her youngest child went to school, she joined George in the family Consumer Loan and Insurance business in Mt. Pleasant until their retirement. In 1978, they relocated to Green Valley, AZ to enjoy the warmth and sunshine in their golden years. She was a lifelong member of The Order of Eastern Star, V.F.W.W. Auxiliary and P.E.O., Chapter “J”, Green Valley, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Rose Ella Brinning, her sisters, Wilma (Brinning) Crone, Josephine (Brinning) Allender, and her brother, Donald Brinning. She was also preceded in death by her dear daughter, Barbara Jo Haddock, and her beloved husband George. She is survived by her son, G. Edward Means and his wife Rosalinda of Denver, CO., 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
