Ryan Kenneth Joseph Brown, 31, of Ft. Madison died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at his home.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Ft. Madison. Funeral services will follow and start at 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at the Barr Memorial Chapel, Ft. Madison, with Father Mark Spring officiating. A private family burial will be held at the Oakland Cemetery, Ft. Madison at a later date. A memorial has been established, and contributions may be left at the Barr Memorial Chapel. He was born Jan. 18, 1982, in Ft. Madison, the son of George Brown and Julie (Ilmberger) Brown.
He was a 2000 graduate of Ft. Madison High School. He was a member of The Moose. He enjoyed softball, frisbee golf, bowling, playing league pool, going out on the river, boating and water skiing. He participated with the Man Country Sporting Events in Keokuk.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Julie and Stephen Long, of Ft. Madison; his father, George Brown, of Mt. Pleasant; one brother, Kevin Long, of Ft. Madison; three sisters: Amanda Brown of Mt. Pleasant, Michelle (Greg) McRoberts of St. Charles, Mo., and Nichole (Jess) Zinnert of Keokuk; three grandparents; and a great-grandmother.
He was preceded in death by three grandparents.
