S.O. Fun Day will encourage participants to get active
Healthy Henry County Communities is working with local residents to plan a free community event to encourage individuals and families to enjoy physical activity in a social setting.
The S.O. Fun Day will be held on Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to noon in both Swedesburg and Olds.
The variety of kids activities and a scavenger hunt through both communities gives options for people of all ages and abilities to participate.
Activities will start in the Olds City Park from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with sports activities, face painting and the start of the scavenger hunt.
At 10 a.m. participants can meet at the Olds City Hall and walk or ride their bike to Swedesburg, stopping along the way to pick up another stamp for the scavenger hunt card.
Prizes will be awarded for the completion of the scavenger hunt.
From 10:30 a.m. to noon there will be activities including games, an inflatable obstacle course and balloon animals with Jellibean the Clown outside of Parish Hall in Swedesburg.
The scavenger hunt will continue with a historical walk. If participants don’t want to walk or ride back to Olds they can catch a mule and wagon ride back.
Healthy Communities is now looking for local organizations and businesses to help out by volunteering during the event or helping to sponsor.
