Seventh-grade girls sweep Ottumwa
The Mt. Pleasant seventh-grade girls finished their basketball season with a pair of big wins over Ottumwa on Tuesday night, as the “A” team picked up a 50-16 victory and the “B” team came out on top of a 22-13 decision. The “C” team also picked up a win in a close game against Ottumwa, 10-8.
In the A game, Kalynn Batey scored a team-high 19 points, and Taylor Murray also broke into double figures with 10 points.
Ashlee Menke added nine points, while Jackie Fraise contributed six and Delaney McDowell chipped in five. Pearl Krieger-Coble scored one points. The A team finished with a record of 8-3.
In the B game, Bailey Batten and Brianna Bowman scored six points each, while Lindsey Lees and Corissa Williams each put in four points. Sarah Lanphier chipped in two. They finished the season 5-6.
The C team was led by Bea Fitten and Keri Herr with four points each. Lydia Johnson scored two points. They finished 3-3 on the season.
