Sharon R. Spaker Kurth
Sharon R. Spraker Kurth, 64, Mesa, Ariz., and formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Mesa.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 3, at Burge Cemetery, rural New London. The Rev. David Mixon will officiate with the family receiving friends immediately following the service at Elliott Chapel, New London. A memorial has been established for Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix, Ariz.
She was born Nov. 29, 1949, to Emmet and Elizabeth Spraker.
She grew up in New London and Danville and graduated from Danville High School in 1968. She then attended AIB in Des Moines and received a Junior Accounting degree. She later moved to Arizona. She married Dave Kurth on July 2, 1977.
She worked at Sankovich & Associates Insurance in Phoenix for over 20 years. The couple later moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1997. While in Mt. Pleasant, she worked at Wal-Mart and volunteered at her church’s tent at Old Threshers. The couple moved back to Arizona in 2005. She began working in the City of Scottsdale Police Records Department in 2006. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, playing Pinochle and spending time with family.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Sarah Elizabeth Kurth and Darla Jean Kurth, both of Arizona; two sisters, Sandra Chrapla and Susan Spraker, both of Arizona.
