Along with their all-GTNS nod, Mt. Pleasant girls’ basketball players Taryne Shull and Kelsi Phipps have been named first team all-Southeast Conference by the league coaches.
Mt. Pleasant’s Natalie Ita was selected second team all-conference.
A pair of 6-foot-1 starters, Shull and Phipps led the Panthers to a 5-3 conference finish, falling just shy of an SEC title — Mt. Pleasant lost the last game of the SEC season to Washington, which finished 6-2 to take the crown.

Joining the Mt. Pleasant pair on the first team are conference players Sidney Baumann, Fairfield; Lakyn Boltz, Keokuk; Rachel Dunlap, Keokuk; and Lauren Kimball, Washington.
Dunlap and Kimball were named co-players of the year.

Mt. Pleasant players who earned an honorable mention were junior Natalie Myers, junior Leslie Taylor, sophomore Mary Wester and sophomore Hannah Becker.
