Smith becomes an Eagle Scout
Chance Smith of Mt. Pleasant has earned his Eagle rank.
Smith is the first Eagle Scout for Boy Scout Troop 27, and he earned this award in the Centennial Year Anniversary of Eagle Scouts.
Smith started out in Cub Scouts when he was in first grade in Miami, Fla. When his family moved to Mt. Pleasant, he continued his scouting adventures in Pack 27. He earned numerous awards, including the Heavy Shoulder Award for completing all the activity pins possible and the Arrow of Light. He has earned over 45 merit badges over the last four years and is part of the Boy Scout National Honor Society, The Order of the Arrow.
Although this is the capstone of his scouting career, Smith plans on staying active in scouting and is currently a troop guide for Troop 27. His next goal is to become a junior assistant scout master.
Smith is the son of Kim and Travis Smith.
