South Iris Street now open for travel
Motorists can now access the main entrance to the Mt. Pleasant Municipal Airport and East Lake Park as reconstruction work is nearing an end on South Iris Street, according to Warner Engineering of Mt. Pleasant, the engineer for the project.
The engineering firm said a subcontractor has completed placing shoulder rock along the project.
All that remains to be finished is grading from the shoulder out to the right-of-way by the contractor JDM Contracting of West Point.
All “road closed” signs have been removed and South Iris has been opened past the airport and East Lake Park.
