Southeast Iowa Chamber Singers holiday concert set for Dec. 3, Dec. 4
The Chamber Singers of Southeast Iowa will present “Inspire!,” their new holiday concert, on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 3 and 4, at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 200 S. Main St., in Fairfield, at 7:30 p.m. This will be the final event of their 25th anniversary year.
The December program provides a range of uplifting holiday songs, both sacred and secular—from the rich textures of Renaissance polyphony to traditional carols in unusual arrangements and just-published new works.
“With the holidays fast approaching, the Chamber Singers are eager to inspire the community with this year’s musical offerings,” says Elaine Reding, musical director of the Chamber Singers. “We’re also very excited about our guest instrumentalists for this concert, including our special trio Lise Marcell, Karen Aoki, and Donna Nelson, who will play a beautiful Bach cantata to complement the choral offerings.”
Soon after their December concerts, the Chamber Singers will travel to New York to join other international choruses in the premiere of Kim André Arnesen’s Requiem on Jan. 16, in Carnegie Hall.
All are welcome to attend the December concerts.
