Students in Robin Lutovsky’s physics class at Mt. Pleasant High School took to the water (pond in front of the high school) for the annual cardboard boat races last week. The competition is done every year as a culmination of the hard work the students put into physics class, Lutovsky said. The exercise also gives students first-hand knowledge about buoyancy, the effect of net forces acting on an object, fluid mechanics and drag imposed by tall weeds in the water.
