Stanley William Menke, 67, St. Paul, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at The Madison in Ft. Madison.
Friends may call and meet with the family from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5, at St. James Catholic Church in St. Paul. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5, at St. James the Less Catholic Church in St. Paul with Father Bruce DeRammelaere as celebrant. Burial will be in the St. James Church Cemetery in St. Paul.
Memorials may be made to Lee County Hospice or St. James the Less Catholic Church.

Born Oct. 15, 1945, at St. Paul, he was the son of August Francis “Frank” and Catherine (Hunold) Menke. He married Bonnie Kruse. They later divorced.
He was a member of St. James the Less Catholic Church in St. Paul and the Houghton Knights of Columbus. He was a 1963 graduate of St. James High School in St. Paul. He attended one year of Universal Trade School and served in the United States Army Reserves from 1967 to 1973.
Survivors include two daughters, Lynn Pirkle of Norfolk, Lisa (Jon) Hromadka of Minneapolis, Minn.; one son, Chris (Danika) Menke of Mason City; five grandchildren; two sisters, Sister Monica Menke of Milwaukee, Wis., and Leona (Lavon) McNary of Downing, Mo.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Frank, Maurice and Norbert; one sister, Glorene Grant.
